Innishannon Steam & Vintage Rally 2026 — Everything You Need to Know
April 6, 2026 | by innishannon
One of the biggest events in the Irish calendar returns to Innishannon this June — and it promises to be bigger and better than ever.
Mark your calendars, dust off your vintage overalls, and start polishing those engines — the Innishannon Steam & Vintage Rally is coming back for another spectacular year. This is not just an event; it is an institution. And if you have never been, 2026 is the year to go.
What Is the Innishannon Steam & Vintage Rally?
The Innishannon Steam & Vintage Rally is one of the largest events of its kind in Ireland, held annually in June in Innishannon village, County Cork. It began in 1998, growing out of the old Upton Steam Rally, and has become a calendar highlight for tens of thousands of people from across Ireland and beyond.
Each year, the rally attracts over 1,000 exhibits — from magnificent working steam engines to vintage tractors, classic cars, agricultural machinery, threshing demonstrations, and much more. The crowds this spectacle draws are equally impressive: approximately 60,000 visitors make the journey to Innishannon each June to experience it.
An Event With Purpose
The Innishannon Steam & Vintage Rally is not just about the machinery — it is about community, generosity, and making a difference. Since the rally’s founding in 1998, its organisers have raised over €1 million for the Irish Cancer Society, making it one of the most impactful fundraising events in Munster. Every ticket purchased, every tea and bun sold in the tent, and every generous raffle ticket helps fund vital cancer research and support services.
It is a remarkable achievement by a remarkable community, and it makes attending the rally feel even more meaningful.
